Kováčová Water Mill near Rožňava and crafts of Gemer
Discover a unique place in the heart of the Slovak Karst, near the town of Rožňava, where technology, traditional crafts and stories of the Gemer region meet under one roof. The mill has preserved its original atmosphere and once belonged to the Andrássy family from Krásna Hôrka Castle. The guided tour lasts approximately 30–45 minutes
What You Will See and Learn During the Tour
- the story of the last miller and his family
- original milling equipment on 3 floors
- exhibition about traditional hemp processing
- the water wheel and millrace
- household items and folk crafts from Gemer
- hands-on grinding on traditional millstones
After the tour you can relax in the garden, enjoy hemp lemonade, coffee or light refreshments, and take home hemp products or milling accessories.
